  • Is your venue wheel chair accessible?
The chapel has double doors with a ramp for wheelchair access and an accessible toilet via the reception hall. There are currently no wheel chair accessible bedroom suites on the property.
  • Can you recommend any vendors in South Canterbury?
The Timaru Wedding Directory is a great place to start! They offer an online directory with South Canterbury's best wedding vendors. We can personally recommend Agnes Grace Photo and Film based just 5 minutes from the property. Agnes is a fine art photographer, and Timaru local. Together with her assistant Tali, they create timeless photos and wedding films that you will treasure for years to come. Agnes and Tali won't only be your photographers, but your hype team, and are experts at keeping you comfortable and relaxed which we all know makes for the best photos. Country Feasts is a great catering option. Not only will they cater the most delicious food that we have had many raving reviews on, but they can also supply your alcohol along with service staff if you require. The Spit Roast Company are also a fantastic option for catering, with generous portions and a delicious and hearty selection, your guests are sure to go away satisfied. We love working with Event Brew for drinks service. They provide and bring all the alcohol and equipment, service your wedding and take everything away again, including the rubbish! (Which is something we require). Their friendly team always go the extra mile and you won't be disappointed with their attention to detail. We highly recommend Danny Atkinson Music for all your musical and sound system needs on the day. He can expertly transition from aisle music to cocktail hour background sounds to reception and dance music. Talented and easy going, he and his band are sure to get your guests tearing up at the ceremony and dropping it on the dance floor. Looking for something sweeter? The Sweet Cloud Co. offer live spun cotton candy for weddings. They're the perfect option for a unique cocktail treat or dessert. Taxis need to be booked in advance as there can be delays with last-minute taxi services. We can help you to organise shuttles to town for your guests if you require. The last shuttles leave at 11.30 pm when the venue closes.
  • Do you provide chairs & décor hire?
Yes, we do! We have gorgeous oak cross backed chairs and wooden pews in our hall, standard blue chairs in our chapel, and white plastic chairs for outdoors. If you require a different style chair in a different area they can be moved for a small labor fee. We have a range of other items to hire as well, from place mats to votives to plinths and flower urns. If you can't find what you like within our selection, we work closely with Perfect Settings and Something Borrowed Something New and can organise alternative décor for you.
  • Do you have accommodation available?
Yes, we do! We pride ourselves on our exquisite accommodation. All our suites are supplied with fresh linen and quality bathing products, and breakfast is included. Amenities include large smart TVs, en-suites and seasonal pool access. You can find out more here!
  • What will happen on our wedding weekend?
You are welcome to arrive at the manor on the afternoon before your wedding so that you and your bridal party can set up, rehearse and then relax and prepare for the big day. As part of our standard wedding package you will have access to the bridal suite (Two queen beds, sleeps 4) for the night before your wedding. After a complementary breakfast, your photographer, hair and makeup team can arrive and there are plenty of beautiful spaces for getting ready and taking gorgeous pre-wedding photos. You will have exclusive access to our turret dressing room as well as use of your bridal suite and lounge area of the manor. Once your ceremony is over, all your guests can mingle in our courtyard or chapel lounge and be served drinks and nibbles from the corner outdoor bar, while the Bridal party head away for photos. For stunning photos, the beach is just a couple of minutes drive from the manor. There are also endless options of flower fields, rustic barns and sprawling countryside. Some even make the trip to Tekapo which is only an hour and 15 minutes away. We do, however, recommended this for a first look/pre-ceremony photo location as not to cause timing stress. Once its time for the reception, your guests can head in to our striking Brick with its lovely high beams, barn doors and chandeliers. Your caterer can supply food and alcohol and we include the use of our wine glasses and coffee and tea facilities in the price. Depending on your numbers we can help to clear away a couple tables to create a dance floor and guests can gather and watch as the newlyweds take their first dance. The rest of the night is yours to head off on your honeymoon and Timaru is ideally located only an hour or two to several beautiful destinations and an airport just 25 minutes away. Kingsdown staff will take care of the clean up, all you have to do is make sure you take all your personal belongings. We have additional accommodation available to book the night of your wedding if you desire a honeymoon suite or if you have any out of town guests wanting somewhere close to stay. You can also book the bridal suite for another night if you require (not available to the public).
